Please Note that all of the stickings have been written for a Right Handed drummer BUT the foot sticking (or footing) has been written specifically for me - a Left Footed drummer. Simply reverse any footing for the bass drum if you use your right foot for the bass drum.

Merry Christmas everyone! In this Free Video Drum Lesson, as requested by my subscribers on Facebook Page, I'm going to take a look at Sultans Of Swing by Dire Straits, featuring the drummer Terry Williams and his wonderful sounding groove!
The part I want to show you how to drum occurs around 4:24 into the song, the part where the vocal line sings "As the Time Bell rings..." Terry Williams plays a broken para-diddle between the ride cymbal and snare drum to replicate this "Time Bell" in a really fun and musical way.
Few drummers listen to the vocals, let alone interact with them. Terry really was a musicians drummer.
Lets check this great lick out below...

This is the latest Free Video Drum Lesson based on my Facebook followers requests...my Xmas present to you guys! One of the requests I got was for the song "Welcome to Paradise" by Green Day.
In this free drum lesson I'm going to show you how to play my favourite drum fills from the song - the fill that occurs at 0:04 and then a very similar fill that occurs at the end of each chorus.
Tre Cool uses this drum fill/lick throughout the whole song, as well as on many other Green Day songs as well. It's one of Tre Cool's favourites!

This is the latest Free Video Drum Lesson based on the requests I received from my Facebook followers. One of the requests I got was for the song "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder.
In this free drum lesson I'm going to show you how to play my favourite drum fill from the whole song - the fill that occurs at 1:14. This little lick still gets me excited, thanks to it's syncopated and baffling orchestration.
Did you know that the drummer was in fact Stevie Wonder?!?! Nope, neither did I, but it turns out that Stevie can really play the drums! It makes this fill even more interesting considering it was played by someone who's first instrument wasn't even the drums!

For this Free Video Drum Lesson I'm going to show you EXACTLY how to play the third and longer DRUM SOLO from the song "No One Knows" by Queens Of The Stone Age.
The drummer is the totally amazing Dave Grohl of course! By the way, have you heard that he will be recording a new album with QOTSA?! Expect LOTS of new lessons from me soon then!
In a previous free video drum lesson I showed you how to drum the first No One Knows Drum Solo Lesson. You can watch this free video drum lesson by clicking here.
This drum solo occurs at 3:20 into the song and demonstrates Dave's amazing ability to play energetic and exciting drum parts that also fit the music perfectly. I've been meaning to record this free drum lesson for a while now and I'm pleased to be able to finally do it for you.
Happy drumming and enjoy!

In this free video drum lesson, I want to show you how to play the epic drum fill that occurs at 6:19 into the song "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin.
John Bonham was the drummer of course, and he simply blows me away with his unique and skillful drum groove and drum fill construction.
There are many other lessons online teaching this drum fill but I wanted to offer you my take on it. I also believe that this IS the correct way to play it as well!
In this free video drum lesson I show you how to play both the actual version as well as a simplified version. This will hopefully give you some alternatives if you find Bonham's actual lick a little tricky.
Lets now take a look at one of John Bonham's most famous and popular drum fills below...
In this free video drum lesson, I want to show you how to play the cool drum fill/solo idea that occurs at 5:02 into the song "Fear Of A Blank Planet".
The band is Porcupine Tree and their amazing drummer Gavin Harrison is one of my favourites of all time! He's a truly incredible player.
The drum fill features multiple subdivisions and some really tricky hand and foot combinations, but is well worth the effort in learning. You can take so many fun licks out of this drum fill and use them elsewhere in your playing. As usual, Gavin has loads to teach us!
Lets take a look at this famous and popular drum fill now below...
The drum fill that occurs at 0:09 of the song "Helicopter" by Bloc Party is a great example of Matt Tong's upbeat and fast drumming style. In this free video drum lesson, I'm going to show you how Matt plays it.
This drum fill features fast up-tempo sixteenth note singles with well placed crash cymbal stabs. It's not very technical but it does become tricky when trying to play it up to tempo.
