Half decent electric kits which aren't too pricey??
Hi all,
I'm a beginner (have been taking lessons once a week since April) and I've asked Father Christmas (aka my long-suffering boyfriend) for an electric drum kit this year. I don't know whether he's taken my request seriously but he wants me to investigate what would be considered a half decent make of kit without having to pay a small fortune for it.
Any suggestions for an electric kit which sounds ok and isn't too expensive?
Thanks,
Caroline.
P.S. We live in Barcelona so perhaps prices/makes may vary a little. It has to be something we can get over here. Cheers!
Hi Rob,
Thanks so much for you help. Now to convince Santa....

I have the Yamaha DT Xplorer, nice kit, lots of possibilities and good sound.
Idela for the beginner or the hobby player in my book!
Good luck!

Hi Caroline,
Thanks for your interest in the site and for your question.
The cheapest electric drum set you can buy is made by a manufacturer called ION. Click HERE for a link on Amazon.
The next cheapest is by Session Pro. The Amazon link is HERE.
Next up is made by Alesis HERE.
The cheapest Yamaha kit is HERE.
And the cheapest Roland is HERE.
These are NOT the best prices for these kits by the way. You will need to look around yourself to find the best prices as they change all the time.
Alesis, Yamaha and Roland each do several different electric kits at varying prices depending on features and pad designs. You will need to look at the full range yourself online by visiting their websites as there are too many to list here. You can then search online for the best deals.
I highly recommend that you go with either Yamaha or Roland if you want a quality electronic kit as these are the best by far. Alesis are also quite good but only if you cant afford the Yamaha or Roland in my opinion.
I hope this helps you and best of luck with your searches!
Rob
