Hello and welcome to Drums The Word!

My name is Rob (that's me in the photo) and I'm a highly experienced drummer and full time drum teacher living in the South of Hampshire, UK.

I've been drumming for over 20 years and started when I was just 9 years old. Even at this tender age I knew that drumming was something very special and immediately fell in love with the instrument.

I now spend my days either teaching private drum lessons, playing in my band or working on this website.

Drums The Word was created by myself back in 2007 as a place for drummers of all ages and abilities to meet, discuss and learn the drums for free. It has since grown into a massive online community with 1000's of drummers visiting the site regularly every week.

Drums The Word is proud to offer a ton of free drum lessons and free video drum lessons as well as offering a host of downloadable quality drum products at a price to suit every pocket.

When I'm not writing and recording videos or lessons for Drums The Word I teach private drum lessons in the Southampton, Portsmouth and Fareham area of South Hampshire. I teach everything from common drum grooves to advanced solo ideas, from total beginners to drummers that have been playing for years.

My unique, friendly and laid back teaching approach insures that not only do you learn quickly but in a way that's fun and very easy to follow.

I have been teaching the drums for over 14 years now and in that time helped 100's of pupils on their way to drumming success!
