In this free video drum lesson, I want to teach you the drum solo intro to the song “Money For Nothing” by Dire Straits, featuring the drumming of Terry Williams.

I recorded the full song lesson for this track a while ago now (check it out here), but I purposely left out the drum solo intro as I thought it was just a little too random and tricky to read…BUT, my followers over on my Facebook Page have asked that I teach them this most classic of intros…so I’m happy to oblige 🙂

I explain how I split this solo up into six parts in the video below, and also why…partly because I didn’t have a couple of hours to record the perfect take in one go if I’m honest with you. Anyway, all of the notes are correct, it’s just a case of taking each lick and working on connecting them over time…no pun intended.
