In this free video drum lesson I’m going to teach you how to play three of my favourite drum fills from the song “Next Year” by the Foo Fighters.
The drummer on the album was Taylor Hawkins but Dave Grohl took over drumming duties for this one song; and with great results as you might have expected!
The three drum fills are played in a linear style of drumming meaning that no two limbs fall at the same time. Dave Grohl expertly incorporates his bass drum foot into these drum fills to create really cool sounding, multi-layered fills.
