Difficulty Level _ IntermediateIn this new series of free video drum lessons, I want to focus on some of my favourite drum licks, fills, grooves and patterns.

This video drum lesson is based on a drum beat idea that I’ve heard called the the “King Kong” beat. The idea is that you play a couple of doubles with the right hand either side of the backbeat on beats 2 and 4.

In the lesson I show you how to apply different bass drum patterns to this lick as well as how to incorporate ghost notes to flesh it out even further.

If you enjoyed this lesson, and you want to help promote what I do here at DrumsTheWord, then please press the “Like” button on the video page itself by clicking HERE.

Thank you kindly for your support and happy drumming to you! šŸ™‚
