In this free drum lesson, I want to teach you the main parts from the song “YYZ” by Rush featuring the late great Neil Peart on drums.

In honour and memory of the great man himself, this is my tribute to one of the greatest rock drummers of all time…Neil Peart.

This song features some very cool grooves and fills, including a few Neil Peart signature licks. We have all kinds of subdivisions going on within the drum fills making them both tricky and fun at the same time. As always, I also talk about how some of these parts may be simplified for the newer drummer…it’s still a beast to play though! 🙂
