In this free video drum lesson, I want to teach you how to play the song “Jailhouse Rock” by Elvis Presley featuring D.J. Fontana on drums.
This song features a classic example of the quasi-swing feel that a lot of drummers were playing on the hi-hat at the beginning of the rock and roll period. I do my best to replicate this and also show you all the nuances D.J. includes in his part.
