In this free drum lesson, I want to teach you the main drum fills from the song “The Joker” by Steve Miller Band featuring John King on drums.
The main drum beat is relatively simple, so for that reason I decided to focus on the big drum fills instead. The first one I demonstrate occurs multiple times throughout the song whilst the other are all unique in their own way.
There are a couple of drum fills that go over the bar as well, creating two bar drum fills that use all three toms, the bass drum and the crash cymbal. These fills are perfect for any new or beginner drummer looking to expand their licks.
