In this free video drum lesson, I want to show you how to play the start of the drum solo that occurs 2:29 into the song “Radar Love” by Golden Earring, featuring the drumming of Cesar Zuiderwijk.
The start of the drum solo has a sort of tribal “George of the Jungle” kinda vibe to it…which I really liked…hence why I decided to do a lesson on this section. It’s surprisingly tricky to include the hi-hat foot as well, but as always, my lesson breaks down the solo lick into smaller simpler parts which then build up to produce the final solo.
Try creating your own solo around this one lick…it’s a lot of fun!
