In this free drum lesson, I want to teach you the main drum beats and fills to the song “The French Open” by Foals featuring Jack Bevan on drums.
This song features some great examples of dance and reggae style drum beats and fills. The song goes from a half time feel to a double time feel using the snare drum back beat in inventive ways.
Then there’s the drum fill lick at the end of the song which reminded me of Dave Grohl and Dominic Howard. A classic lick and A LOT of fun to play!
