In this free drum lesson, I want to teach you the main parts from the song “Philadelphia Freedom” by Elton John, featuring the drumming of Nigel Ollson.

The song starts with some cool double handed sixteenths on the hi-hat. Nigel plays around with the accents and the looseness of the hats creating a very dynamic part. The rest of the song features a relatively simple drum groove that takes you from start to finish.
