In this free drum lesson, I want to teach you the main drum beat from the song “Detroit Rock City” by Kiss featuring Peter Criss on drums.
This is a great example of Peter’s ability to swing an uptempo rock song. It features a steady hi-hat part but the bass drums, snare drum ghost notes and open hi-hat parts give it it’s slinky and unique feel and sound.
In this lesson I also show you the basic drum beat allowing the more intermediate drummer access to this cool song. Later in the lesson I then add the more complicated parts eventually building it up to the actual drum part.
